Beau Baron and David Haagsma team up for 2012, with newly formed Maxxis / H&M Motorsports race team!

Fallbrook CA 12/07/2011 – Roll Design is proud announce its continued support of two of the fastest racers in the Nation – Beau Baron and David Haagsma, for the 2012 race season!

2009 WORCS Pro Champion Beau Baron #549 has always proven himself a true Champion. Some bad luck in 2010 and 2011 kept him from retaining the #1 plate, but did not keep him off the Championship podium for either of those years, with a 2nd and 3rd respectively. It also did not keep him from remaining the likeable guy that everyone enjoys on, and off, the track. He always seems to have so much fun going fast, and his enjoyment of the sport relays well when you put a camera or microphone in front of him. Racing as a privateer against Factory teams is a tough undertaking and Beau continues to prove that he is one of the fastest guys that you could ever put on a quad.

2010 Pro-Am WORCS Champion #422 David Haagsma bumped up to the Pro class for 2011. He definitely proved himself worthy of the plate, with 6 – top 5 finishes and a 5th place overall for the 2011 series and in doing so, he showed everyone that he will be a serious threat for the #1 plate for 2012.

Team Manager - Allan McCostlin of H&M Motorsports, will be the primary mechanic for Haagsma and Theo Lusardi will focus on Beau at the track. The motors for both riders will be built by Curtis Sparks. Sparks builds some of the most powerful 4-stroke engines available, and they last. Brutal endurance racing, like the WORCS series proves it. Haagsma showed just how much power Curtis is able to get out of them with a couple MONSTER holeshots this season, with the first being an uphill drag race on the start in Idaho.

The Maxxis / H&M Motorsports racers will continue to run the Roll Design/ Elka suspension combo on their Honda TRX450Rs, as it has proven time and time again to be one of the best performing setups available. Roll Design will continue to be the exclusive U.S. Elka Service center for ATV’s on the West Coast, and will be onsite for the entire 2012 WORCS series in support of Beau, David, and the rest of our customers - both Amateur and Pro.

Congratulations to the new team, and we look forward to a very exciting and competitive new season!

WORCS Round 9 - Speedworld, AZ

Yamaha's Dustin Nelson, riding his #94 Roll Design equipped YFZ450R, claimed his first WORCS victory at the final round of the 2011 WORCS series last weekend - just weeks after securing his fifth Pro 450 Production class championship in the Quad-X motocross racing series. Rains fed a muddy Arizona racecourse at Speedworld MX park, forcing many drenched riders to search for clean goggles within the first few turns of the race. Nelson exploded out of the gate during Sunday's Pro Main Event, taking the WORCS holeshot bonus cash and establishing a comfortable, roost-free gap for the lead, a gap that he would maintain for much of the race. In the end, Nelson finished nearly a half-minute ahead of the second place finisher.

At the end of the WORCS season, Roll Design riders numbered five of the top ten series finishers in the pro class, and six of the top ten series finishers in the Pro-Am class. Roll Design/MCR Honda rider, Beau Baron, finished third at the end of the year with five podium finishes in the nine race series. In the Pro-Am class, Roll Design's Keith Johnson also had five podium finishes for the year, finishing soundly in second place. Johnson also claimed first place in the Production A class series points championship.

Roll Design would like to thank all of the series champions and competitors that use Roll Design products. As an official representative and authorized service center of WORCS sponsor – Elka suspension, we will be looking forward to seeing you all again in 2012!

ROLL DESIGN/ELKA RIDERS BIG WEEKEND AT RACETOWN 395 Julie Russell Crowned Champ, Garrin Fuller Wins Pro-Am

Fallbrook CA 10/28/2011 – Make that THREE WORCS CHAMPIONSHIPS for Women's A rider, Julie Russell, who once again took a first place finish at Racetown 395. With one race still left in the series, Russell already has enough points to clinch the overall. On average, Russell turned a full minute faster lap time than anyone else in the Women's A class, and this is the second year in a row that Russell has claimed a WORCS championship. Russell is going out on top as she plans to retire from ATV racing after the final 2011 round at Speedworld MX in Arizona.

Beau Baron had to settle for a second place finish at Racetown after one of the fiercest Pro class battles WORCS fans have witnessed to date. Baron turned in the fastest lap time of the day at just over 9 minutes and 21 seconds. He lead early on in the race, then made use of an early fuel pit strategy. Can-Am racers, Josh Frederick and Jeremie Warnia, made the pass in the pits, with Baron hot on their tail. Baron caught Warnia while he was fueling, and then outmaneuvered Frederick on the logs in a very difficult Endurocross section of the racecourse. In the last laps, Baron got a little out of shape in the whoops, and was forced to concede the lead, and ultimately the win.

Pro Racer David Haagsma was got off to a great start and was running in the top five for all of his laps, but a rear brake mechanical failure sidelined his MCR Honda, forcing him to take a DNF.

The Pro-Am class packed a podium full of Roll/Elka Riders. Garrin Fuller is running in top form once again, claiming the class win. Chase Thomas and Keith Johnson also claimed familiar spots at the checkered flag, finishing second and third respectively.

Roll Design Riders Score BIG at WORCS Round 7

Glen Helen Pro Podium - Beau Baron 1st, Dustin Nelson 2nd!

Fallbrook CA 9/13/2011 – San Bernadino, CA - All eyes were on the front runners as WORCS round seven proved to be anything but predictable. After an hour and forty minutes of racing, it was Beau Baron that claimed the checkered flag at Glen Helen - his first WORCS win this season. "After I got into the lead, my work was not done and there was no time to relax because I could still see Warnia, Haagsma, Frederick and Nelson charging, and they were not going to let me breathe easily," remembered Baron. "This race has really tightened up the series points chase and makes the battle for the championship more exciting. I am going to do my best to prepare for the final two rounds, and no matter how it ends it is sure to be exciting." Baron currently sits just twelve points out of first place.

Dustin Nelson picked up second place, finishing just twelve seconds behind Baron. Nelson was riding with an injured right arm after an unfortunate incident during Saturday qualifying. "I had a pretty good crash in qualifying practice. It beat up my arm a little, but I was still able to qualify in third position," said Nelson. Nelson fought injury related arm pump during the first half of Sunday's Pro Main. "After my pit stop, I was running in fourth position. There was a pro-am rider down, and he was blocking the pro downhill. The top six or seven pros were all lined up waiting. When the track cleared we all raced hard. I passed Frederick when he pitted, and on the last lap made my way past Haagsma for 2nd."

It's his rookie season as a pro WORCS racer, but David Haagsma has already staked his place loudly at the top of the pack. At Glen Helen, Haagsma nabbed his second holeshot in the Pro class this season on his Roll Design / Elka / MCR / H&M Motorsports Honda, finishing on the leader's minute and just eleven seconds away from the third podium spot.

Pro Race: 1st, Beau Baron; 2nd, Dustin Nelson; 4th David Haagsma

In the Pro-Am class, Roll Design riders also dominated the finisher podium with Chase Thomas picking up a second place finish and Keith Johnson taking third. Garrin Fuller managed a fourth place finish.

Pro-Am Race: 2nd, Chase Thomas; 3rd, Keith Johnson; 4th Garrin Fuller

Two races remain in the WORCS series -
Race Town 395 - Adelanto, CA - October 21-23
Speedworld MX - Surprise, AZ - November 11-13

Roll Design Dominates Rounds 5&6 Quad X Pro Podium

Fallbrook CA 7/14/2011 –Dustin Nelson (#94) overalls both Rounds 5 & 6 in the Quad X series held at Glen Helen Raceway. Beau Baron (#549) breaks Nelson’s Moto win streak with 1st Moto win of the season.

Round #5 and #6 of the Quad X series was held at the famous Glen Helen Raceway July 9th and 10th in Devore, California. The Glen Helen racetrack is one of the roughest and toughest tracks on the west coast. Known for its treacherous square edge holes, sandy soil, acceleration and deceleration bumps, and huge jumps; suspension setup is key to winning at the Glen.

Round 5 – Dustin Nelson and Beau Baron would continue their 2011 QuadX battle for the top 2 spots throughout the weekend. In Moto 1 on Saturday, Baron grabbed the holeshot and never looked back, to take his first Quad X moto win of the season. With this win, Beau would break the streak of Nelson’s undefeated Moto wins through the first 4 rounds of the Quad X series this year. Moto 2 would once again play out with Baron and Nelson once again banging bars early on. Dustin Nelson grabbed the win and the Overall for round 5 on Saturday with a 2-1 finish to make it 5 for 5 overall wins for the season so far. Roll Design / Elka dominated the podium at round 5 with Nelsons Yamaha teammate Josh Row in the 3rd place spot overall with a 5-3 overall. Garrin Fuller also took 1st in the Pro Am class.

Round 6 - The double header weekend continued on Sunday for Round 6. Dustin Nelson’s and Beau Baron would once again put a show on for the fans as the top ran an all out Moto 1 and Moto 2 as if they were the only 2 riders on the track. Nelson took Moto 1 without question and Moto 2 saw Baron grab his second holeshot for the weekend. Nelson found an opening right away and took advantage of it, to once again put in a perfect 2 Motos with a 1-1 win taking the overall for Round 6, while Baron went 2-2 claiming the second spot. Sunday it was Barons Teammate MCR/Roll Design/Elka rider David Haagsma who was 3rd fastest for the 3rd spot on the podium with a 3-3 finish and Josh Row was consistently fast all weekend and taking 4th on Sunday with a 4-4 for the motos. This gives Roll Design and Elka the entire Pro podium for the entire double header weekend, not to forget Duncan Racings Garrin Fuller also continued his hold on the top spot in the Pro-Am division, giving him top billing for the Pro Am racers all weekend.

The Roll Design / Elka combo once again displayed its superior quality and stability in one of the roughest tracks in the west coast [Glen Helen Raceway]. The top spots for both Round 5 and 6 of the Yamaha Quad X in the Pro and Pro – Am Classes were equipped with Roll Design A-Arms, Steering components and Elka Shocks.

Roll Design Amateurs Hit Jackpot at WORCS Round 2

Fallbrook CA 3/4/2011 – Amateur riders equipped with Roll Design/Elka Suspension Win Big at the WORCS Round 2 held at Buffalo Bills Casino in Primm, Nevada.

WORCS round #2 greeted rider’s with wintery weather conditions as temperatures in the low 30’s for Saturday’s events. Rain, Sleet and even

some snow fell during the day, but it wasn’t the weather that presented the biggest challenge for the day, it was the sandy whooped out race course. Primm valley is well known for its brutal desert conditions, but at the end of the day it was those who came prepared and setup to run in these harsh environments that would go home happy.

Roll Design as well as the Elka Service Center was trackside once again to help riders make the necessary adjustments for the days riding conditions. Riders in any class could get help with adjustments. Years of experience trackside from

Doug Roll and Erik Westergaard were like hitting the jackpot for the day’s events.

The Pro-Am class was dominated by Javier Robles Jr, of Mexicali BC. Robles would get a great start and after the first lap would get himself into the second position, pressuring the second place spot for the next several laps, Robles eventually got around #39 Collins Webster during the 5th Lap, where is keep the lead all the way to the checker flag.

Duncan Racing’s Garren Fuller put in the fastest lap time of 10:46:359 in the Open A class, grabbing the holeshot, and leading the entire race to take home the 1st Place trophy and the series points lead.

In The Women’s A class, Julie Russell of Team MCR aboard her Roll Design/Elka Shocks equipped Honda TRX450R put in a spectacular ride for the day. Julie Lead from start to finish and captured the fastest lap time of 10:36:017, followed by Raustyn Hurst in the second spot also equipped with Roll Design A-Arms.

The Hancock Racing team is familiar with the podium in the AZ Whiplash series races and grabbed 2 more wins in WORCS with Josh Edwards taking the 15-29 A and Matt Hancock in Sport 15-29 B.

The 12-15 Production class couldn't touch Jake Morton on his Roll Design / Elka equipped Yamaha Raptor 250 as he put himself on the top of the podium and is currently leading the series points.

Primm Nevada maybe a gambling town, but with Roll Design and Elka Suspension on your bike, the deck was stacked in your favor. WORCS Round #3 goes to Lake Havasu City Arizona on March 18-21st at Crazy Horse Campgrounds. Be sure you’re ready for the brutal course Havasu has to offer each year.

Roll Design Beau Baron wins iconic Adelanto GP in the ATV Expert Class.

Fallbrook CA 2/15/2011 – Beau Baron wins the iconic Adelanto GP in the ATV Expert Class.

Roll Design dominates Adelanto GP with 4 Top 5 finishes.

Racetown 395, in collaboration with Off Road Sports, announced in late December it would take over the 30-year motorsport event, after the former organizers last year said they could no longer run the race amid budget issues. However, after an agreement with the city of Adelanto the race was back on for 2011. Off Road Sports, LLC management set out to put more structure and safety built into the Adelanto GP racing. The goal make the event fun for everyone while preserving the overall feel of races past, FAST and FUN.

Saturday would host the motorcycles finishing up during the Sunday morning races, where Sunday afternoon hosted the ATV’s and UTV’s. The ATV Expert field had a very familiar feel, as many of the WORCS regulars were present for the afternoon’s race with 14 entries on the start.

Beau Baron, Roll Design/Elka/MCR rider fresh off his win from the Taft Big 6 in the ATV Expert class entered the Expert ATV class, as well as running his dirtbike in the 30+ class in Saturday’s race. Saturday’s race would give Beau an advantage over the rest of the field giving him a look at the rough sandy rutted conditions the desert landscape of Adelanto, CA would create for the off-road racing sections of the course.

“Saturday’s dirtbike race was kind of uneventful, I got the holeshot and that was the end of that.” – Beau exclaimed after his win in the 30+ Dirtbike Class.

The ATV Expert race on Sunday included many of the WORCS series racers. Beau would be joined by his Roll Design/Elka/MCR teammate Davi Haagsma, who would take the early lead getting the holeshot for the iconic Adelanto GP. Beau would waste no time getting around his teammate, passing him quickly within the first few turns.

Can-Am’s Jeremie Warnia, winner of the WORCS round #1, displayed the horsepower of the DS450 passing both Haagsma and Baron in a straight away during the early part of the race. Warnia’s lead was short lived, as he came up short on the pond jump, landing in the water, handing the lead back to Baron. Baron got in and out of the pits smoothly keeping his lead giving him the win for the 2011 Adelanto GP.

“ I took the lead back and just kept charging to get as far away from Warnia as I could”- Beau Baron

Roll Design/Elka/MCR Teammate Davi Haagsma made a strategic decision to not pit as an intense battle erupted with east coast’s Jarrod McClure Roll Design/Yokley/Costal Racing. The decision did not play out as expected and McClure would finish on the box in the 3rd position. Haagsma settled for fourth followed by Mike Cafro, Roll Design/Elka/MCR teammate in the fifth spot.
